Users and Profiles

In this guide, you will learn how to create users and profiles that can be used by administrators, supervisors, and agents. Additionally, you will be able to see the details of additional features such as importing users, exporting them, and assigning them a profile. Let's see everything you can do!

How to access?

Access this screen from the Administration menu by clicking on Users.

Required permissions

Your Profile must have the following permissions to access this screen:

  • Access to Users
  • Access to Profiles

Keep in mind that the visibility and actions available within the screen will depend on the permissions assigned to your profile. Depending on these, you may only view information or also make modifications to the enabled Users and Profiles.

Users

In this section, you can view all the users already created in uContact in a table-like format, perform quick searches based on the username and full name of the user.

You will also be able to create users in bulk from a list and export them to a CSV file.

User list

Within this section, you will have the list of all users created in the system.

What does each column mean?

  • User: here you can see the avatar, full name, username, and the extension assigned for the Telephony channel.
  • Email: indicates the email address associated with the user. It can be empty, but it is important to configure it as the system uses it to send the 2-Step Authentication code to access the platform.
  • Profile: indicates the profile associated with the user, by default it is Agent.
  • Actions: by clicking on the icon, you will see a menu with options to edit or delete the user. If you want to edit it, you can modify all information related to the user except the username.

Disabled users

In the user list, you can distinguish between users who are enabled and those who are disabled, that is, users who will not be able to log in to uContact because they were temporary users or are disabled.

If any exist, they will appear grouped in that category at the bottom of the list, and by hovering the mouse over the avatar, you can see the reason why it is disabled.

How to import users?

You can import a list of users to create them in bulk and save time. Here's how to do it!

  1. Within the Users Screen, you need to click on the Import button, located in the upper right corner.
  1. A modal will open where you can view the fields that you can include in the list and whether they are required or not, identifying them with a check or a cross. Click Continue to proceed to the next step.
  1. In this step, you need to upload the file with the list of users. It must be of type XLSX, ODS, CSV or TXT with a size no greater than 50MB. We provide an example below that you can use.
  1. Within the file, you must include one user per line. The required fields are: username, full name and email or password, but you can also include more user information. We show you below.

    • Profile: Profile that will be associated with the user. It is necessary to enter the profile name exactly as it is created on the platform.
    • Valid date: date from which the user can log in to uContact. The format is YYYY-MM-DD, for example: 2025-10-27.
    • Expiration date: date from which the user cannot log in. The format is YYYY-MM-DD, for example: 2025-10-27.
    • Timezone: timezone associated with the user. Example: America/Montevideo.
    • Language: language associated with the user. It must be in ES, EN, PT or FR format.
    • Phone: extension (4-digit number) associated with the user for the Telephony channel.

Once you have selected the file, click Continue.

  1. In this step, the first two records of the list will be shown, and you must associate each field in the list with a column. If you included headers in the list, you must select the Contains headers option.

If a field does not apply or is empty in the list, you simply need to select the Skip this column option and it will not be taken into account for the creation of users.

  1. In this last step, you can view the first two records of the list along with the fields associated with the columns. In this step, you can verify that you have associated the fields to the columns correctly.

To finish the process, simply click the Finish button and the users will start to be created.

Attention!

If the list has many records, it may take a few seconds to process completely. You will receive a notification when all users have been created.

How do users log in?

  • If no password is included, uContact will assign the user a random password. They will receive an email at the associated email address with their credentials so they can log in.
  • If no email address is included, the Administrator must provide the user with the credentials so they can log in.

In either case, the first time the user logs in, they must change the password to a new one.

How to export users?

If you need to, you can export the users created in uContact to a CSV file. To do this, simply click on the download button located in the upper right corner.

After clicking, the file will be generated and will download automatically in a few seconds. This file includes the complete information for each user.
