User menu and preferences

From the top of the Inbox you have access to your status, notifications, and all account customization options.

The navigation bar is the top strip of the Inbox. From there you can see your connection status, change your user status, review notifications, and access the user menu with all your account options.

Connection status

Indicates whether your Inbox is operational. The possible states are:

  • Connected: everything is working correctly and you can receive interactions.
  • Phone not connected: there is a connection problem and you cannot use the Inbox.
  • Already connected: uContact supports up to 3 simultaneous Inbox connections with the same user across tabs and devices. This state is no longer shown when opening a second or third Inbox — those connect normally. If you attempt to open a fourth connection, a blocking screen appears instead. See Using multiple Inboxes simultaneously for more details.
  • Reconnecting: uContact is trying to reconnect. This is usually due to a brief internet drop or a version update in progress.

User status

From here you can change your status and indicate your availability to receive interactions. Some examples: Available, Lunch, Break, Busy, Unavailable.

Notifications

Shows the list of pending system notifications. You can receive notifications for reports ready to download, transfers, and more.

User menu

From your user icon you access all personal configuration options.

My Dashboard

Your personal dashboard with a daily summary of your activity, including statistics and charts.

  • Interaction detail: number of interactions handled and started, organized by channel. For Phone, outbound interactions include both manually placed calls and those managed from an Outbound Hub.
  • Timeline: a chronology of your actions for the day (logins, pauses, interaction starts). You can filter by event type or adjust the time range.
  • Connected time: total time connected, split between busy time (handling interactions) and free time.

Avatar

You can create a custom avatar or upload a profile photo to identify yourself within uContact.

To create your avatar you can customize the head, facial hair, glasses, eyebrows, eyes, mouth, and clothing. Use the arrows on the right section to change each element and the color palettes to adjust tones. You can also generate a random avatar with the Random button.

Preferences

From this section you can customize the sounds, visual appearance, and language of the interface.

Sounds

Choose the sound you want to hear when receiving an interaction, a message, or a call. Click on each option to preview it and adjust the volume to your preference.

Receive notifications outside the system: if you enable this option, you will receive browser notifications about interactions and calls even when you are not on the uContact tab.

Browser permissions

To receive notifications outside the system, you need to enable notification permissions in your browser settings.

Help

From this option you access the official uContact documentation to consult guides and learn how to use the system.

Start as unavailable

If you enable this option, the next time you log in you will be set to Unavailable status and no interactions will be assigned to you. Other users will see you as disconnected, although the Supervisor will be able to see that you are connected from the campaign dashboard.

Change password

From this option you can change your password without logging out. Enter your current password and then the new one, which must meet the minimum security requirements configured by the Administrator.

Log out

Log out of uContact from here. After clicking, you will need to confirm the action.

Using multiple Inboxes simultaneously

You can have up to 3 Inboxes open at the same time, across different tabs or devices. Each session is independent — logging in from a new location does not invalidate existing sessions, so you can be connected from your PC and your mobile at the same time, for example.

Everything you do in one Inbox (sending messages, handling interactions) is reflected in real time across all other open Inboxes.

Telephony with multiple Inboxes

The following types of calls ring on all your connected Inboxes at the same time:

  • Inbound calls from a campaign.
  • Preview dialer calls.
  • Calls from other agents (internal calls).

Once you answer in one Inbox, the others stop ringing. Audio flows only through the Inbox where you answered, and the other open Inboxes show a purple indicator on the interaction and on the tab to let you know a call is active on another session. The telephony button is blocked on those Inboxes to prevent starting additional calls while one is already in progress.

Auto-answer with multiple Inboxes

If a campaign has User auto-answer enabled, the behavior depends on how many Inboxes you have open:

  • One Inbox open: the call is answered automatically as usual.
  • More than one Inbox open: auto-answer is disabled for that call. The call rings on all your Inboxes and you must answer it manually.

Reaching the connection limit

If you try to open a fourth Inbox, a blocking screen appears that prevents you from using uContact. From that screen:

  • uContact automatically checks whether one of the existing connections has closed.
  • You can click Try again to check manually.

Once the number of active connections drops below 3, the Inbox connects automatically and you can continue working normally.
